The Grahams held vast lands in Stirlingshire and Perthshire, where they built the famed Mugdock and Kincardine Castles. They were fierce royalists and military commanders, especially during the civil wars of the 17th century. Their legacy includes the heroic figure of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose.
